Driving Directions
From Tucson
If you have a high-profile vehicle, SUV, crossover, or truck:
From Interstate 10 eastbound or westbound, take Interstate 19 south approximately 50 miles, past Tubac to Exit 29 (Tumacácori/Carmen). Turn left (east) at the bottom of the ramp and you will come to a T at the East Frontage Road. Turn left (north) and drive 0.4 miles to Santa Gertrudis Lane, which is the first right turn. There is a brown arch with white letters over the entrance to the lane.
Drive east on the lane to come to the Santa Cruz River, which runs year-round and is a fair-weather crossing! If you have a high profile or front wheel drive vehicle it is safe to cross the water when it is flowing. Stay to the left (north) side of the crossing and drive with determination. DO NOT STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RIVER as it is sandy and soft. As long as you continue forward you will be fine. You will pass a driveway on your right and Casa Paloma is the second driveway on the right just before the railroad tracks. If you go over the tracks, you have gone too far and will need to turn around. We will send you the code to open the gate at least 24 hours prior to your arrival.
If you are driving a small car or just don’t want to go across the Santa Cruz River fair-weather crossing:
Take Interstate 19 south approximately 53 miles, past Tumacácori/Carmen exit to Exit 25 (Palo Parado Road). Turn left (east) and proceed approximately .5 miles over the bridge to a T at Pendleton Drive. Turn left (north) and drive approximately 2.5 miles to Santa Gertrudis Lane on the left. This is a two-lane road with a speed limit of 35 mph that is enforced, along with occasional cows/deer so please drive accordingly. Turn left (west) on Santa Gertrudis Lane and proceed 0.4 miles and cross the railroad tracks. Casa Paloma will be on your left immediately past the tracks. We will send you the code to open the gate at least 24 hours prior to your arrival.
From Tucson International Airport
Exit shuttle parking or rental lots onto Tucson Blvd. Turn left on Valencia Road and drive west approximately 4 miles to the Interstate 19 interchange. Turn left (south) onto I-19 and drive approximately 45 miles south and take Exit 29 Tumacácori/Carmen and follow high-profile/SUV directions above or drive an additional 2.5 miles to Exit 25 Palo Parado and follow small car directions above.
